The Reading & Literature curriculum series is composed of 20 well-rounded courses for grade levels 1-12. This series contains titles in the subjects of Reading, Building Vocabulary, and Humanities.
The A+LS Reading series reinforces vocabulary, grammar, language, and comprehension skills as well as literature in many different forms. Students are encouraged to recognize relationships in printed text and to develop skills for using words in practical, everyday situations. One special feature of the Reading series is the use of pop up reading selections that can be opened and closed by the student as needed.
Curriculum from the Building Vocabulary titles provides students with phonetic and visual introduction to new words and word sounds. Students are exposed to numerous examples of the correct use of words and sentences. The Building Vocabulary series provides a solid foundation of vocabulary skills that will enable students to recognize new and unfamiliar words and decode them based on context clues, prefix and suffix knowledge, or analogy skills.
The last two titles in the Reading & Literature curriculum series are Humanities I and II. These titles are a sequence of 89 lessons developed for high school students that cover the areas of visual art, design art, the performing arts, philosophy, and literature.
