Teaching On-Line

The registration period for Summer School is very short. The number of sections of each course will not be known until just before the classes begin. As a result, a number of teachers are needed in every subject to be ready to teach on short notice.

Teaching at the Babbage Net School is very similiar to teaching in a physical classroom. You will talk to the class, write on a board, display material, answer student questions and call on students. The students can talk to the class, write on the board or type their questions or answers. Preparation for class is the same as for your current classes. Preparation and planning is essential. Student materials, handouts and display material like transparencies have to be prepared before class. In the on-line class these materials are prepared on your computer and easily uploaded to the server. Tests are simple to create and the students can take the tests on-line between the scheduled classes. The short answer tests are scored automatically when the student submits their answers.

On-line teaching is convenient. You teach from home or any other location with an Internet connection. If you are interested in teaching an on-line Summer School course, or have questions, please contact Mr. C. Dittrich by email or by phone at (631) 642-2029. Be sure to include your certifications, genereal teaching experience, Summer School experience, and references.
